What sets the travel and tourism industry apart from most is its unique stability and resilience. Even during times of political and economic turbulence, there is little to no negative impact on global travel. The strength, importance and reliability of the travel and tourism industry are largely infallible. Over the course of three intensive modules, you will explore the modern travel and tourism industry and the core services it provides. Along with how the industry has changed and evolved over recent years, you will discover how effective marketing plays a role in driving business success, while investigating the various travel products and packages offered by tour operators.
This travel and tourism course is divided into three units:
Unit 1 - An Introduction to Travel and Tourism
The first module begins with a broad overview of the industry as it exists today. Travel and tourism as a concept is divided into several different tourism types, each of which is investigated independently. Candidates also study how the travel and tourism industry has evolved over recent years, along with what gives certain destinations perceived value.
Unit 2 - Tourism Products and Services
Course Module 2 then focuses on the various products, packages and services created and offered by contemporary tour operators. Popular products and services are dissected and analysed in-depth, along with what exactly it is the tour operator does and a series of essential destination considerations.
Unit 3 - Marketing in Travel and Tourism
Bringing the course to a close, Module 3 introduces candidates to a series of key marketing considerations from the perspective of a contemporary travel and tourism business. A variety of effective promotional activities are discussed, along with a breakdown of travel and tourism marketing strategies and the importance of market research.
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).

I liked that there was no deadline which took the pressure off of working full time. I also liked learning something new.
